The first edition of the Vzlet industrial equipment catalogue was developed as a large-scale publication for water utilities, engineering firms, and contractors across Russia and Kazakhstan. The catalogue included more than 300 pages of technical content, such as product specifications, engineering drawings, diagrams, and tables.
Design Challenges
— Large volumes of fragmented technical data were consolidated and transformed into a consistent, user-friendly format.
— Readability for engineers and project managers was improved through the introduction of a clear typographic hierarchy and structured layouts.
— A cost-efficient production strategy was applied, with a full-colour cover and two-colour interior printing.
Design Process
— A comprehensive editorial system was created in Adobe InDesign, including typographic hierarchy, grids, and master templates for 300+ pages.
— Technical graphics, charts, and diagrams were produced in Adobe Illustrator.
— Print-ready files were prepared with CMYK colour profiles, bleeds, and prepress settings.
— A design system and workflow guidelines were established, enabling subsequent catalogue editions to be updated and expanded by the in-house team.
— The design direction was maintained and further development of the catalogue was supervised to ensure quality and consistency.
Outcome
— A clear and professional catalogue was delivered, reinforcing the company’s image as a reliable pumping equipment manufacturer.
— A scalable template system was established, significantly reducing production time and costs for future editions.
